Musical Breakfast

For this Play Cafe session I was joined by Barney Strachan for a musical breakfast. We spent our rehearsal time playing with food and experimenting with ideas of lost and found sounds. We devised a piece where the two of us are having breakfast. As we start preparing our food a piece of music emerges. With the assistance of microphones and a loop pedal we built up a rhythm using toast, rice crispies, cups, bowls and general breakfast accoutrements. Our jamming is then interrupted with the discovery of a magical sound coming from inside the teapot. The sound then disappears and in the resulting search we end up finding all sorts of other strange sounds and noises. In the end we find our missing magical sound and set it free.
